Telegraph Extra Curriculum
We believe that learning a foreign language in the preschool age is an essential part of your child's education and development. Cognitive research shows that a very young child can learn language easily due to the elasticity of their brain.
We have Spanish lessons for beginners by introducing games, books, new words, letters and numbers, etc. This helps your child to develop a second language by talking to him or her during the various times of the day as opportunities evolve.
Yoga-Breath Circle Time
Children participate in Yoga-Breath Circle Time. It includes specific yoga movements that are slow and steady stretches and sound-healing breath work which is deep breathing with and without sounds. Children have the opportunity to connect with their bodies and breath, as well as vocalize sounds with intention and care. They also have the opportunity to observe and play with specific sound healing musical instruments such as the harp, sounding bowls and tuning forks.
Music and Movement
Our music class is a fun way to explore rhythm, speed, pitch, harmonics and other basic concepts of music. There is a strong focus on how music makes us feel and how we can creatively express those feelings. Children learn best when they can use their whole bodies so movement is a big part of the class. Songs are in English as well as other languages, and occasionally putting a fun twist on familiar favorites.
